Simon Jordan savages Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch live on talkSPORT

Simon Jordan has fired back at Jesse Marsch after he addressed reports of some of the Leeds United players being against him.

In his press conference after the FA Cup win against Cardiff City, Marsch labelled those claims as “awful” as he said that he had the backing of the dressing room. [Sky Sports]

This comes after we exclusively reported that some of the senior players at the club told the board to sack Marsch due to the run of results.

Jordan said live on talkSPORT, “He is rattled and I don’t think he has the chops to do the job. I think Leeds are probably one manager and a change of ownership from kicking on again.

“I think he’s only there because they’ve got an American influence in that boardroom as a result of the American investment, otherwise he probably wouldn’t be in the conversation.

“I think he’s okay. He’s not a great manager. If you’re losing and your team isn’t doing as they’re supposed to be, then you’ve got to handle the press and going full out like that says more about him than the things he’s complaining about.

“Grow up. Push your chest out and get your team winning and the conversation will reduce.”

Spot on

Marsch needs to realise that he’s managing in the most-watched and most-talked-about league in the world of sport.

Everything he and anyone else does can and will be scrutinised and he’s paid big money in order to be in that position.

Rather than blaming the press and being so sensitive about what’s being said about him, he needs to focus on getting the right results.

It’s pretty clear that this team is not on the same page on the field of play and if after breaking their transfer record to sign Georginio Rutter, they’re still incapable of getting things done, the fingers will be pointed at the American.

Things need to change and they need to change quickly for Marsch who is in a fight to silence his critics in the press and the Leeds fanbase.

Calls for his sack have increased recently and they will continue to unless the fans do not see the club heading in the right direction.
