Simon Jordan moots Lee Bowyer as permanent Leeds United manager amid recent admission

Lee Bowyer has admitted that he would love to return to Leeds United to do a job if he’s called in by the club hierarchy.

Simon Jordan believes that if he ends up going to Elland Road and being part of Sam Allardyce’s backroom staff, he could be the next manager.

Thus far, the official announcement has not been made to sack Javi Gracia, but it seems to be imminent with Allardyce taking over.

Bowyer told talkSPORT, “Big Sam has done well before and now they’re trying to bring him in to save them. They’re not in a good place at the moment.

“If I was Sam, I’d be looking at the two home games because them fans are amazing and they can make a big difference.

When asked by Jim White if he would be willing to take over, he responded, “I love the club. I had great times there. If I was called in, of course, I would never turn that job down.”

To which Jordan said, “You could see a metric where perhaps if Lee Bowyer is going in with Sam Allardyce, he may come out on the other side as manager of Leeds United.

“You can see that potential play.”

Good temporary solution

It’s clear that having Bowyer back at the club in some shape or form will be essential as he knows the DNA of Leeds United.

He knows what the club means to the fans and the city of Leeds much more than any other player at the club.

Sam Allardyce can focus on the management while he could be the one getting fans on board and giving it their all for the next four games.

He’s spoken so eloquently about the crowd at Elland Road so he clearly knows what the fans can bring and they indeed can be the 12th man for the Whites.

Hopefully, whatever announcement is to be made is done quickly because they need to start getting on with their work.

Facing Manchester City away is never an easy affair, especially in a season like this where they need to win every game to get their hands on the Premier League title.

It’ll be tough but Allardyce has been in this situation on numerous occasions and it’s time he comes out on the other side once again.
