Simon Jordan: Leeds United were never going to sell Kalvin Phillips to West Ham in January

Simon Jordan has insisted that Leeds United were never going to sell Kalvin Phillips to West Ham in January.

Jim White shared the news on talkSPORT that the Irons had placed two bids for the Yorkshire Pirlo, the second of which was worth £50million plus add-ons.

Leeds, of course, rejected those straight up with interest in Raphinha also batted away during the window.

Speaking live on talkSPORT’s White and Jordan this morning (01 February), the latter of the two took aim at those throwing bids at the Whites.

“The Kalvin Phillips transaction seems to me, to be in that territory of batting your eyelids at something without the intention of asking it on a date,” he said.

“From my vantage point, there was never really any transaction that Leeds were trying to do with Kalvin Phillips.”

No chance.

In no world would Leeds have sold Phillips last month.

Marcelo Bielsa may not have said yes to any incomings, but he made sure that no one would be going the other way.

Phillips and Raphinha are said to have been the subject of many bids with clubs queuing up for both, but they will be lining up for the Whites.

Jordan is always on the money, and he took aim at West Ham for their pointless bids being thrown at Elland Road, just trying to appease their fans.

Instead, they ended up signing no one just like the Whites, but they were left even angrier due to their chance of getting top four football.

We are fighting the potential of relegation, but if we had to pick between signings or keeping our star men, we know which we’d pick.
