Simon Jordan leaves Jim White surprised as Chris Wilder mentioned for Leeds United manager role

As the Leeds United managerial hunt enters its second week, Jim White and Simon Jordan have shown their displeasure with potential links to former Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder.

Wilder, who took the Blades from league one to the Premier League, has apparently been tipped in some quarters to replace Jesse Marsch at Elland Road.

Jordan left White surprised by suggesting that he has heard Wilder’s name mentioned around West Yorkshire as he looks for a return to management.

Speaking live on talkSPORT’s White and Jordan show, as shared on Facebook, the latter started the debate which left him clearly bewildered.

“I hear things like Chris Wilder and I put my head in my hands,” said Jordan.

“Chris Wilder to Leeds?” replied White with surprise.

No chance.

The 55-year-old has been out of work since being sacked by Middlesbrough in October with the club in the Championship relegation places before soaring up the division under new boss Michael Carrick, but Jordan believes his links to near-rivals Sheffield United would cause even further division.

“I’d be perplexed if that’s an outcome that would provide a happy and together fanbase, given the fact that he managed Sheffield United.”

Wilder is just the latest name to be potentially linked to the top job at Elland Road, with the likes of Alfred Schreuder, Marcelo Gallardo and Carlos Corberan all finding themselves in the conversation.

The Yorkshire outfit would like to make an appointment prior to their match with fellow strugglers Everton on February 18, with that game now looking huge.

Leeds are making a real hash of this one, and Andrea Radrizzani is doing himself no favours among the fan base with his actions online and in person as this search goes on.

The longer it goes on, the quicker we may even see some fans wish that Marsch had stayed – that is how it’s getting at Elland Road and in LS11.
