Simon Jordan drops new Leeds United promotion verdict after win v Sunderland
Simon Jordan has been left thoroughly convinced by Leeds United after their 2-1 win over Sunderland on Monday.
The Whites have been one of the most dominant teams in the second tier this season with the West Yorkshire outfit only losing three Championship games all season.
However, it was Pascal Struijk who ended up saving the day after he managed to bag a 95th-minute winner against Regis Le Bris in a headed brace.
Speaking about the game and the impact it may have had on their chances of winning the title, Jordan reacted to what Jim White asked about Daniel Farke’s men.
Leeds United seem destined for the Premier League
After the summer transfer window that Leeds had, it felt almost guaranteed that they’d be battling it out for the title at the top of the second-tier table.
Players such as Manor Solomon and Jayden Bogle have been instant hits and have improved Leeds’ team tenfold, regardless of who was sold.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (18 February, 10:11am), Jordan was definitive in his verdict after what Jim White dared to say.
“I think Leeds United, should we say it, have they got one foot in the Premier League,” White asked.
Jordan then replied: “Oh yeah, I think they’re nigh on home and hosed, they’ve got it in their own hands, they should be in this position, they should have been in this position last year.
“They’re a big club when you look at what they’ve achieved over the last few years and how long they spent out of the Premier League and how long it took them to get back and the challenges that they had, change of ownership, change of all processes which got them relegated, they should go up.
“They will go up, I don’t doubt it.”

Daniel Farke deserves plenty of plaudits at Elland Road
While Leeds’ fortunes can’t be solely placed upon the head of their manager, it feels like a lot of their performances have come thanks to the way that Farke has lined his starting XI up.
Indeed, the form of players such as Solomon and Dan James has also been key to the way Leeds have played this season, but it is clear there is less reliance on one or two players as there was last season with Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter, who wanted to do it all by themselves at times.
At the moment, it’s hard to see how the Whites could let their place in the top two slip, especially if they manage to beat Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United next time out.
Only time will tell what the future holds but as long as the West Yorkshire outfit can keep their performance levels to a high standard, everything should end up going swimmingly in LS11 by the end of the term.
Premier League, here Leeds come?
