Simon Jordan discusses Leeds United and Marcelo Bielsa
TalkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan has revealed his view on Leeds United and Marcelo Bielsa ahead of the new season.
The former Crystal Palace owner turned pundit revealed on talkSPORT that he thinks the Whites will suffer from “2nd season syndrome” and that this season is a test for Bielsa.
However, Jordan bizarrely also claimed that the Whites wouldn’t go “backwards”, which seems odd considering he also said they would suffer from “2nd season syndrome”.
This is what he said in full: “Bielsa’s at a stage in his career where he plays hide and seek with himself because he constantly tells clubs that he’ll come out of contract whenever he feels like it.
“That’s a great negotiating technique as long as he delivers if he doesn’t deliver at the end of the season and Leeds go backwards, which by the way, I don’t think they will, then Bielsa would be the one that’s possibly in a [bad] position.
“This is an interesting season because Leeds have come up, shaken people up.
“Now, we’re going to see 2nd season syndrome, and we’ll see if Bielsa is all he’s cracked up to be at Premier League level.”
Odd comments.
Jordan seems to contradict himself within the space of a minute as he first of all praises Bielsa and then questions if he and Leeds can replicate last season.

It is a very odd clip, and the truth is Bielsa has to prove himself to no one as he proved what he could do in the Premier League last season.
Of course, it will be hard for the Whites to improve on their ninth-place finish due to the money being spent by some of the top clubs, but they should still be in for a very good season.
Ultimately, Bielsa has done wonders with Leeds, and it seems incredible that there are still some people out there doubting him at all.
