Simon Grayson makes bold Leeds United prediction in new Daniel Farke sack claim

Simon Grayson hasn’t ruled out Daniel Farke getting sacked at Leeds United before the end of the season.

The Whites’ upturn in form has arguably delayed the German manager’s departure during the festive period.

Farke was arguably on the brink of being replaced at Elland Road before some impressive performances against the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Leeds continued their unbeaten run against Brentford in the Premier League on 14 December with a 1-1 draw at the Gtech Community Stadium, but they’re still in a fierce relegation battle.

Daniel Farke sack still on cards in coming weeks at Leeds United

Grayson has suggested that newly promoted teams should give their manager at least half a season to prove themselves.

While the Englishman hasn’t ruled out the German manager’s departure from Elland Road, he seems to want to see the head coach stay in charge until the turn of the year.

It would be a bold call for the West Yorkshire outfit to keep the 49-year-old head coach in charge until February if they don’t believe in him, as recruitment in the winter transfer window could potentially be pivotal in helping avoid the drop.

Speaking on the Don’t Go To Bed Just Yet podcast on 17 December, Grayson said: “I think it’s difficult to say to stick with him for the rest of the season. When somebody gets promoted, they should be given the opportunity until January or February to get players used to it.”

Farke has arguably done enough to be backed at Elland Road, with the target of a point-per-game likely enough to keep the Peacocks safe.

The next couple of fixtures against Crystal Palace and Sunderland may help the German manager solidify his position in the dugout if he can continue to win points.

Paraag Marathe can’t sack Daniel Farke after what’s happened away from Elland Road

Brendan Rodgers has joined Al Qadsiah after leaving Celtic, with the Northern Irishman briefly being linked with Leeds.

The former Leicester City manager seemed like the perfect candidate to replace Farke had he been sacked after succeeding in Scotland.

Rodgers is well aware of the challenges in the Premier League and had an encouraging spell with the Foxes, winning the FA Cup.

There seems to be no standout candidate now to come in if Farke leaves, and it would undoubtedly make sense to trust the former Norwich City boss after recent results at Elland Road.
