‘Shocked’ – Some fans can’t believe one name listed in Leeds PL squad
With the transfer window shut, the 20/21 Premier League squads were confirmed on Tuesday and many Leeds United fans were shocked to see striker Jay-Roy Grot listed.
Each squad can contain no more than 17 ‘non-home grown’ players, while players under the age of 21 don’t need to be registered.
Grot hasn’t played for Leeds since April 2018 and has been out on loan for the last two seasons.
He picked up an injury for Vitesse last season and after that got infected, has been ruled out for the rest of this year.
He’s in the last year of his contract and Leeds fans thought they’d seen the last of him.
So, what does it mean?
Well, fans have different theories with one thinking that it means he’s going to get a chance under Bielsa.
We think you can safely scrub that one from the list.
We think Grot could be on his way in January if he’s recovered from his infection, with Leeds likely looking to come to some sort of compromise over the rest of his contract.
One thing we’re almost certain of, he won’t be playing for Leeds again.
Here are the best reactions from fans shocked to see his name crop up in a Leeds squad again…
