Sheffield United v Leeds United result predicted by supercomputer

Leeds United travel to Sheffield United in a crucial Championship clash on Monday evening.

The contest has major implications at the summit of the second tier as the Whites can go five points clear at the top with victory at Bramall Lane (24 February).

However, Chris Wilder’s side could leapfrog the Elland Road outfit if they come out on top against Daniel Farke and his charges.

Sky Sports commentator Gary Weaver has labelled the match as “colossal” and expects fireworks in the clash between the top two.

Leeds can cement Premier League promotion

Victory in Sheffield would almost guarantee promotion for Leeds as it would leave them five points above the hosts with just 12 matches to play until the end of the season.

Both sides come into the contest in brilliant form, having both won five of the last six in the second tier with the Blades losing to Hull (24 January) and the Whites drawing with Burnley (27 January).

Securing the three points would give Farke’s side valuable breathing room in the promotion race and allow them to drop points in the future and still be two points ahead.

The German will be concerned with his side’s away record which has seen them drop 20 points this campaign compared to just seven points dropped at Elland Road.

The Championship leaders cannot afford to drop points on the road on this occasion, a win is crucial to cement their place at the summit and give them the best chance of Premier League football next season.
