Second Leeds medical to take place today after fee agreed with PL club – reports

Leeds United are about to hit overdrive in the summer transfer window.

Victor Orta is currently in Spain, as the Whites close in on the record signing of Valencia forward Rodrigo – who has already completed a medical, as reported by ONDO Deportiva.

That isn’t the only striker set to arrive at the club this week though, with Arsenal’s Sam Greenwood also closing in on a switch.

Leeds Live have reported that the Gunners’ 18-year-old is set to complete his medical on Wednesday afternoon, making it two in one day for the Whites.

It is suggested that AC Milan and Manchester United were also interested, but this news means that Leeds have won the race.

In an earlier report by Leeds Live, it was detailed that the Whites will pay up to £3million for Greenwood if all of the added clauses are met. The initial fee is currently set at £1.5million.

Greenwood is set to join the under-23s at Thorp Arch and will join the likes of Joseph Gelhardt and Charlie Allen in the academy.

Two through the door

Leeds fans can expect a couple of strikers through the door before the end of this week then.

Everyone knows about Rodrigo, and what the Spanish international could do at Elland Road in the Premier League under Marcelo Bielsa.

So, what about Greenwood?

The 18-year-old is classed as one of the best young talents in the country. The striker has scored 15 goals in 20 appearances for England’s under-17s and under-18s – a tally only bettered by Rhian Brewster.

If he can bring that form into the Premier League 2 for the Whites, it will only be a matter of time before he makes the jump into the first-team.
