Sean Longstaff responds to official Leeds United post on Monday – here’s what he said
Leeds United were left heartbroken on Saturday after being made to settle for a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth at Elland Road.
Daniel Farke’s side came from behind to take the lead before conceding a last-minute equaliser to substitute Eli Junior Kroupi.
Sean Longstaff and Joe Rodon found themselves on the scoresheet for the Whites, both picking up what was their first goals of the season.
The draw means Farke’s side have picked up eight points from their first six games in the Premier League, possibly leaving them one step away from Premier League safety.
Conceding so late will be a tough pill to swallow for the Whites, although there were plenty of positives throughout the 90 minutes.

Sean Longstaff off the mark in Man of the Match performance at Elland Road
Longstaff gave Leeds the lead in the 54th minute at Elland Road on 27 September, his first goal for the club since leaving Newcastle in the summer.
The ball fell to Longstaff just inside the box, and he took it first time, striking it in off the post on the half volley, much to the delight of the Leeds faithful.
Longstaff received Man of the Match for Leeds, taking to X to respond to his highlights video, he said, “Loved it out there and excited for another home game at Elland Road this weekend.”
It was his fourth start of the season, also picking up his first assist of the season, picking out the head of Rodon from a corner.
Longstaff’s statistics since joining the club are promising, and he is keeping Ao Tanaka on the bench.
- Six appearances

Leeds United in good shape to survive
Leeds have started the season strongly, picking up eight points in their opening six games, putting them 11th in the Premier League table.
Farke’s side looks much improved from their last visit to the Premier League, as they have already taken down an in-form Everton and held Champions League side Newcastle to a 0-0 draw at home.

The Whites welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Elland Road next weekend. They have not lost at home since February, a 1-0 loss to Millwall.
Another three points here would be huge, and Longstaff will be critical to that.
