Scott Parker reacts to Leeds United controversy v Burnley
Scott Parker has reacted to the decision not to award Leeds United a penalty in their 1-0 loss to Burnley on Saturday [14 September].
Joe Worral challenged Manor Solomon in the penalty area in the first half but appeared to make contact with the ball after taking the forward down.
In the aftermath of the result, Parker has provided his reaction to the incident as reported by Leeds Live [14 September], claiming that the referee made the right decision
He said: “I’m not sitting on the fence, but I’ve not seen it.
“I didn’t think it was at real time, to be honest with you. It looked like he got a toe on it. I think it would be unfair of me to comment on that.”
Leeds United robbed against Burnley
Had referee James Bell blown his whistle for a spot-kick, there is every chance that Leeds could have claimed a vital point at Elland Road and there lies the trouble with the decision.
As always with every controversial refereeing decision, the incident between Worral and Solomon has split opinions with many feeling like the Whites were robbed by the decision [talkSPORT].
Leeds were poor against Burnley, yes, a penalty would have gone a long way to claiming a vital point or maybe all three but it doesn’t take away from the fact that the hosts should have performed better in a potential Championship title decider.

After the 0-0 draw to West Brom, this is the second time this season Leeds have failed to get the better of a promotion rival raising serious questions regarding their credentials to compete at the top of the league this season.
If Leeds want to secure a Premier League return at the end of the campaign, the side cannot hide behind questionable decisions to justify poor performances.
The warning signs are there for the Whites and it is up to Farke to address them and fast, his side has already lost crucial ground in the race for promotion and now sit in ninth position after the loss to Burnley.
