'Scenes', 'The most Leeds United thing' – These fans fear the worst after EFL transfer reveal

Many Leeds United fans are already fearing the worst after seeing Crawley Town confirm the signing of TV and radio star Mark Wright.

The Whites’ FA Cup opponents confirmed the signing on Monday night, with Wright re-joining the club after a previous spell at Broadfield Stadium during his youth career.

He joins the club on a non-contract basis after a spell training with the Red Devils and he could now feature in the Football League for John Yems’ side during the second half of the season.

Once upon a time, Wright enjoyed a promising youth career but retired from the game 11 years ago.

The 33-year-old was once at the books at Tottenham and was previously at Crawley during the 2006-07 season.

In recent years, Wright has been a regular on Soccer Aid – the charity football game involving celebrities from all over the world – and is often one of the more accomplished performers.

Leeds are due to face Crawley Town in the third round of the FA Cup in January and many Whites fans can already see the headlines being written.

With Wright joining Crawley on a non-contract basis, it remains to be seen if this will be a long-term signing.

On face value, it may appear to be something of a PR stunt from Crawley, both the player and the club are said to be taking the move very seriously.

While the former TOWIE star appears to have kept himself in good shape, it would be a huge shock to see him line up against Premier League opposition in the new year, especially a team who play with the intensity that Leeds do.

However, that has not stopped these Leeds fans thinking ahead and here are some of the best reactions from supporters on social media.
