Sam Matterface predicts Leeds United hammering against Brighton

ITV lead commentator Sam Matterface has predicted Leeds United to be humiliated by Brighton at Elland Road on Sunday [15 May].

Jesse Marsch’s side are in a must-win situation after three miserable defeats on the spin.

Matterface doesn’t believe things are going to improve for Marsch’s side.

Talking on talkSPORT Breakfast on Friday, [07:45, 13 May] Matterface said: “Jesse Marsch is going to need to pull out all the inspirational quotes in the world to change Leeds’ fortunes.

“They’re playing a bang in-form Brighton side with lots of players playing well.

“Danny Welbeck has been in fine form of late, so I am going for a 3-0 away win for Brighton.”

Must win

Although it is not mathematically a must-win for Leeds, it feels as if their fate will be sealed if they fail to beat the Seagulls.

Burnley have a game in hand on the Whites, albeit against Champions League-chasing Tottenham.

Marsch needs to throw everything at winning the match.

Leeds don’t want their two-year Premier League stay to finish on a whimper.

At present, the Whites are playing passively, defensively and lacking any sort of courage to take the game to their opponents.

Obviously, Marsch doesn’t want to leave his side wide open but there needs to be a balance.

At present, it feels as if they aren’t throwing caution to the wind in order to keep their Premier League survival hopes alive.

Unfortunately for the Elland Road side, they’re finishing their campaign against two sides that are in excellent form.

Brighton have some big recent scalps and Brentford have won four of their last six matches.

The West London club are also unbeaten in that time which makes Leeds’ final day task even tougher.

In other Leeds United news, it is predicted that Stuart Dallas could quit Leeds in the summer.
