Sam Allardyce to take charge of Leeds United on Wednesday, Javi Gracia and Victor Orta axed

Former Everton, Crystal Palace and West Ham manager Sam Allardyce is reportedly set to be the next Leeds United manager.

According to Mike Keegan from the Daily Mail, he is likely to be announced on Tuesday, 2 May and will officially take over the reins from Wednesday.

Andrea Radrizzani has made the call to axe Javi Gracia along with director of football Victor Orta.

Via Twitter, Keegan wrote, “Deal agreed between Sam Allardyce and Leeds. Set to take over tomorrow. Announcement later today.”

One last throw of the dice

Nobody would’ve fathomed that the club will go from Marcelo Bielsa to Sam Allardyce but this is how the cookie crumbles at Elland Road.

No coherent planning from the top has led to Leeds finding themselves in this sort of a mess and there’s nothing the fans or players can do about it.

The style of football is also contrasting to what most of them are used to and the lack of options available to replace Gracia has led to Allardyce.

Leeds United

However, barring the one relegation with West Brom, he’s known to be a specialist at staying up and getting instant results.

He has it in him to inspire confidence from this bunch of players and keep Leeds in the Premier League.

It seems that he’ll be targeting at least four points from the next four games and a win against Newcastle can very much be on the cards.
