Ryan Kent to Leeds United verdict shared by Sky Sports pundit after farewell to Rangers

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United

Paul Robinson believes Leeds United will be up against much stiffer competition when it comes to signing Rangers’ attacker Ryan Kent.

The 26-year-old winger said his goodbyes at Ibrox on Wednesday evening with his contract set to expire after the Gers’ trip to St Mirren on Saturday.

Kent has long been linked with a move to Elland Road and Robinson feels the Englishman will still be on Leeds’ radar.

“He’s been linked with Leeds for a number of years now, I think the last two or three seasons – there was even a money bid about 12 to 18 months ago,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

“He’s been on Leeds’ radar for a long time. As a free agent, they will be up against a lot stiffer competition and they obviously stand more chance of getting the player if they are in the Premier League.

“It’s also if the manager in charge wants the player. With no sporting director and no permanent manager, signings for Leeds are very much up in the air. Kent obviously wants to test himself and I think he has the ability.

“He’s done well at Rangers and had a few good seasons there. I think we could see him at a Premier League club.”

In other Leeds news, our exclusive pundit has predicted a Championship side to come in and sign Joe Gelhardt.
