Ryan Kent could be solid replacement for Leeds United winger Raphinha

Leeds United are reportedly showing keen interest in signing Rangers winger Ryan Kent in the summer transfer window.

According to a report from 90min, Leeds are one of the clubs that are looking to sign the dazzling winger who is facing an uncertain future at the club.

Kent has become a key player for Rangers over the past couple of seasons, and he was superb in the Europa League semi-final against RB Leipzig.

Kent has resurrected his career in Scotland and he has taken his game to a whole new level under Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

In fact, he wasn’t bad under Steven Gerrard at Ibrox. In September, the now-Aston Villa manager said Kent is a “phenomenal” winger [Sky Sports].

Kent will enter the final 12 months of his contract at the end of the season. While Rangers do not want to sell him but they could lose him for nothing if his contract situation drags on.

Leeds, if they avoid the drop, should look to bring Kent at Elland Road, possibly as a replacement for Raphinha.

According to reports from Sport, Raphinha has told Leeds that he wants to leave Elland Road this summer, with Barcelona being his preferred destination. Leeds could demand £50m for him.

Raphinha has been outstanding for the Whites over the two seasons, and losing him would leave a big hole in the squad.

Kent won’t be a like for like replacement for the Brazilian, but he won’t be a bad signing either. Getting a player of his quality on a bargain deal would be massive for the club.

He has the ability to conjure up moments of brilliance with his dazzling skills, and Elland Road will find a new hero if he arrives.

In other Leeds United news, Paul Merson has predicted that Saturday developments will put ‘massive’ pressure on the Whites.
