Roy Keane shares what he’s been told on Leeds manager hunt live on Sky Sports
Roy Keane believes the Leeds United players got Jesse Marsch the sack after their performance against Nottingham Forest last Sunday.
The Whites succumbed to an early Brennan Johnson strike, which turned out to be the final blow to Marsch’s Elland Road tenure.
The former Manchester United legend didn’t hold back in his assessment of their performance and is unsure of what type of manager the board will be able to attract to Elland Road.

“They’ve obviously responded well to the sacking last week and it’s a huge decision for Leeds to make and get somebody in,” said Keane while at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium (Sky Sports coverage, 13:01, 12 February).
“We talk about Leeds showing high energy but they didn’t show any of that last weekend but they reacted well in the week.
“There’s a lot of names there but whether they can get any of this manager, we’ve been told one or two have turned it down.
“Their fans have been fantastic but one win in eight – you need more than that. We talk about energy, they didn’t have energy against Forest, their performance was a disgrace and that’s why they got their manager the sack.”
Crucial
This season’s fight against relegation promises to be one of the most hotly contested in recent years. The Whites are firmly embroiled in a dogfight with a number of longstanding Premier League clubs. Evidently, a new manager will need to be in place for when Leeds travel to Goodison Park to face Everton next week.
The Toffees are also struggling but are now under the stewardship of Sean Dyche. The former Burnley man knows exactly how to keep a team in the Premier League and will be another stern test of Leeds. Victor Orta was perhaps expecting this manager hunt to be a little easier than it has turned out to be.

Andoni Iraola, Marcelo Gallardo, Carlos Corberan and Arne Slot have all turned down the chance to take over at Elland Road and quite where Leeds turn next is certainly up for debate.
Potentially a more experienced manager to steady the ship until the summer could well be a route for the board to go down.
