Roy Keane, Gary Neville and Ian Wright predict result of Leeds United Championship clash v Preston North End
Gary Neville, Roy Keane and Ian Wright have made their predictions for Leeds United’s Championship clash with Preston this weekend at Elland Road.
The Whites were beaten on Boxing Day in the reverse fixture but have been in excellent form since, and head into this game on the back of a dominant 3-0 win over Cardiff last time out.
And speaking on the Stick to Football podcast (18 January), the trio accompanied by Jamie Carragher and Jill Scott made their picks for the game with everyone expecting Daniel Farke’s side to be victorious.
“Yeah, Leeds will beat them. 3-1,” Keane said before Jill Scott offered her own pick.
“I was going to go 2-0 [but] 3-0,” she said.
Wright started his prediction with a “Leeds! Leeds! Leeds!” chant, before offering some insight.
“Preston beat them earlier in the season, but I think Leeds at Elland Road will get revenge. I would give Preston a goal (3-1),” he said.
Neville then made his thoughts on the game clear.
“Leeds will win that,” he said. “We’re going Leeds definitely, aren’t we? 2-0 you reckon? Or 3-0? 2-0.”
Dominant
Leeds are in a great place currently but that blip of form over the Christmas period means that the gap to the automatic promotion places has seemingly got bigger.
The team are playing just once a week at the moment which means the manager is able to go with whatever he feels the strongest team is with minimal rotation.

That’s a positive and wasn’t the case when the two teams met on Boxing Day, where a poor performance and a red card for Illan Meslier contributed to a poor result.
But if the team can reach the levels they have been able to in recent weeks then they will feel that the quality of the squad and current situation plus a home crowd pushing them on will be enough to earn all three points.
Nobody here likes Neville or Keane but if we can prove them right and get a comfortable win then the whole club will be in a great place moving into the final week of the transfer window as they look to keep pace with other playoff contenders.
