Raphinha has gifted one of his Leeds United shirts to Brazilian legend Ronaldinho and has shared images online of his inspiration.
The winger has been incredible since arriving from Rennes and has taken to the Premier League with ease at Elland Road.
This isn’t the first interaction between the two, with the Whites superstar labelling the former Barcelona and AC Milan icon as a “wizard.”
Writing on his personal Instagram account, Raphinha was clearly awestruck by the Brazilian legend as he held his shirt aloft.
“I will always be very grateful,” he said.
“Thank you for everything you did for football. Thanks to you I could dream and I keep dreaming. Thank you wizard for being my inspiration.”
If you would have told us all those years ago during our drop down to League One that Ronaldinho would be holding aloft a Leeds shirt, we would have laughed.
Even claiming that we would have signed players such as Raphinha seemed centuries away as we conceded seven at home to Nottingham Forest that dark, cold evening.
Things have changed at Elland Road, and this is just one of the small signs that Andrea Radrizzani is taking us back to the great times we have all experienced.
Raphinha has that Brazilian samba flair about him, and who better to have as your inspiration for that than Ronaldinho.
Should the South American star take us back to the Champions League, he would be remembered forever, and who knows? We may get Ronaldinho in West Yorkshire watching along, imagine that.
