Rodrigo’s friends want to return to ‘amazing’ Leeds United every week
The 2-1 victory at home to Norwich City was a big day for Leeds United and Jesse Marsch and the atmosphere at Elland Road was rocking.
Joe Gelhardt’s 96th-minute winner sent the majority of LS11 (minus the travelling Canaries of course) into raptures as the American coach secured his first win in the Premier League.
Not everyone in the ground that day are diehard Whites supporters as attacker Rodrigo revealed that his friends had made the trip from Spain to watch him play.

The Spanish international revealed that those same friends are now keen to return to Yorkshire more often after getting a taster of what Elland Road has to offer.
“Elland Road has a special atmosphere,” he said to the Yorkshire Evening Post. “I’ve played in very different scenarios during my career and I can say completely that Elland Road is one of the best ones, if not the best one.
“The game against Norwich I had some friends come from Spain for their first Premier League game in the stadium here in England. After the game, you can imagine, the win, the pride, the way we won.
“They said they want to come back every weekend because it was something amazing. They’re used to watching La Liga games, another of the best leagues in the world.”
Going global
Leeds United are massive and the word is spreading to sunny Spain now too.

Maybe with COVID-19 a distant memory, for the most part, now could be the time for the Whites to get back on tour during pre-season and allow some of their international stars to play in their home country again.
Rodrigo will be very keen to play in front of a Spanish crowd and the club could organise some very stern tests in the build-up to next season to best prepare the squad for an assault on the Premier League.
The financial outlay of a tour abroad might be an immediate hit but the potential for growth outside of the UK tends to outweigh the original expenditure.
Marsch will have plenty to ponder in that regard but first things first, he has to make sure the club remain in the top division for another season.
In other Leeds United news, a pundit predicts major backlash from Whites fans if the club sign this midfielder in the summer.
