Rodrigo set to start as number 10 in Leeds United v Wolves clash
Rodrigo is reportedly set to start in the number 10 position when Leeds United take on Wolves in the Premier League on August 6.
According to LeedsLive journalist Beren Cross, Jesse Marsch views Brenden Aaronson as a left winger which means that the Spaniard will start in behind Patrick Bamford.
He bagged a hat-trick in the Whites’ last pre-season friendly and appears to be in good shape ahead of the new campaign.
Cross wrote, “With Brenden Aaronson shifted wider, Rodrigo looks set to begin through the middle behind Patrick Bamford on Saturday. After the low of Aston Villa’s visit to Elland Road last season, Marsch’s promotion of the Spaniard into the leadership council has been followed by months of man management.”
Makes sense
Beren Cross himself reported in July that the attacking midfielder could look to leave Elland Road this summer in order to win himself a spot in the World Cup team.

Arriving at Leeds for a then record fee, few expected his career to pan out in the way it has over the last two years.
He failed to replace Patrick Bamford who proved to be exceptional in Leeds’ first Premier League campaign after promotion.
Last season, despite an injury to the Englishman, Rodrigo struggled and could not make the number nine spot his own.
Even when played as a ten, he’s had purple patches but has failed to consistently be a goal-scoring and creative threat for the Whites.
It seems like Marsch now trusts him to get the job done and we’re interested to see how this pans out.
In other Leeds United news, a 29-year-old has snubbed interest from Europe to move to Elland Road with the move subject to a work permit.
