Rodrigo provides verdict on Junior Firpo’s time at Leeds United
Rodrigo believes that Junior Firpo is settling into life at Leeds United but admits that it is difficult to adapt to a new country and the club’s style.
Speaking to LeedsLive, the 30-year-old went into detail on the left-back and defended his start to life at Elland Road.
The former Barcelona man has struggled in some games this season but was fantastic against Watford and could perhaps represent a turning point in his early Leeds career [Yorkshire Evening Post].

He said: “Every time you move [to] a new club, it’s always difficult, especially if you move to a different country.
“We know we have a different style, from a physical point of view, it’s really, really hard, and the rhythm of the Premier League is different to Spanish football.
“He’s doing very well. It’s quite normal what you are saying about him, and I see him very happy here and try to, like everyone here, do his best for the team.”
Positive stuff from Rodrigo on Firpo.
Given that the left-back was one of Leeds’ only first-team signings this summer, there has been a lot of pressure on him to replace Ezgjan Alioski.
He has shown in spells that he has what it takes, but he has been poor in some games.
However, it is good to hear that he seems to be settling in, and last weekend he shackled one of the Premier League’s in-form players in Ismaila Sarr.

So, could that be the turning point for him?
Well, we certainly hope so, and we look forward to seeing how he performs against Southampton after the international break.
The Saints haven’t started the season that well, and this is the ideal opportunity for the Whites to seal another win and build on that Watford result last week.
Firpo needs to have a full season under Marcelo Bielsa under his belt before being properly judged, and when the time comes, hopefully, it’s a positive outcome.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are one of 19 Premier League clubs to call for an emergency meeting.
