Rodrigo faces his toughest time since joining Leeds United

Leeds United attacker Rodrigo is reportedly facing his toughest time at the club since moving to Elland Road last summer.

According to Spanish media outlet Las Provincias, Marcelo Bielsa was one of his main supporters at the club, but his exit has now complicated things even further.

The Spain international arrived in Yorkshire as a record signing but failed to cement his spot in the playing eleven.

Exit bound?

Jesse Marsch has walked through the door at Leeds and it remains to be seen where Rodrigo fits into his plans.

Bielsa may not have picked the Spaniard in every game, but always had a plan for him.

He dropped him into central midfield on occasion and played him as a winger or a number 10 as well.

If Marsch only sees him as a striker then that could benefit the former Valencia player.

With Patrick Bamford out and Dan James faltering in the final third, a return to Rodrigo as the lone striker could be beneficial for everyone.

The American’s first eleven in charge will give us a good idea as to who his preferred players are.

There certainly are a number of selection decisions that we will be keeping our eye on from now until the end of the season.

It also remains to be seen that after Bielsa’s exit if Rodrigo still wants to stay at the club as he could still seek another big move in his career.
