Rodrigo expected to make Leeds United return for Aston Villa Premier League clash

Leeds United attacker Rodrigo is reportedly likely to return to the fold on 2 October ahead of the Aston Villa game but will not be back in time for Manchester United.

According to injury expert Ben Dinnery, his potential return date from the shoulder injury is next month and he will take no part in the game over the weekend, if it goes ahead.

The Spaniard was in good form before he suffered an injury in the 1-1 draw against Everton.

Boost

Given the fact that the game against their arch rivals is in jeopardy, Leeds may very well play their next game in October now.

For that one, Rodrigo should be available and that will be a welcome boost for Jesse Marsch.

The former Valencia striker has been arguably his best player this season and he was in red-hot goal scoring form before his injury.

Marcelo Bielsa failed to bring the best out Rodrigo but it looks like he’s thriving under the American and long may this run of form continue.

He was the club’s record signing when Bielsa brought him to Elland Road and it’s time he starts living up to the billing.

We’re not expecting him to start the Villa clash but any return from injury is a boost for Leeds and Marsch will be welcoming it.

Hopefully, Patrick Bamford also stays fit so that will give Marsch the option of deploying different systems for different games should he feel the need for it.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites have reached an agreement to sign a left-back, according to his agent.
