Rodrigo De Paul has delivered a one-word verdict on his potential move to Leeds United via his official Twitter account.
The Udinese midfielder emerged as a potential target for the Whites last month, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that they are “seriously interested” in a deal for the 26-year-old.
Things have cooled a little in recent days, but Eleven Sports journalist Luca Fiorino has insisted that Marcelo Bielsa’s men are still in pole position to land the Argentine.
And it would seem that the player himself is keen on a move going through this summer.
Discussing a potential deal on Twitter, popular Leeds fanzine The Square Ball wrote: “Apparently he’s keen on the move but it now rests with the clubs”.
In response, de Paul tweeted: “Yes”, followed by a fingers crossed emoji.
This could be a huge indicator of where de Paul’s future lies.
For the player himself to be openly interacting with fans like this – as well as clearly stating that a deal is in the offing – feels pretty major.
There has been so much speculation surrounding this one, but to have such a hopeful update from the Argentine himself is enough to get our pulses racing.
The South American looks to be some player, so much so that football data expert Dan Altman has suggested that he is unparalleled by anybody in Europe in terms of his style of play.
Landing him would surely be a major coup, and with this latest hint, it might be a lot closer to happening than we all think.
