Rodrigo apologises to fans after what he did at FT against Aston Villa

Leeds United were held to a point against Aston Villa after a thrilling 90 minutes saw the game end 3-3, but one Whites star wasn’t happy at all.

Talented attacking midfielder Rodrigo had one of his better games in a Leeds shirt at Villa Park, twice assisting Dan James in the first half of the game.

But he let himself down towards the end of the match, picking up a yellow card for kicking the ball away in a huff before heading straight down the tunnel at full-time.

He was confronted by one Leeds fan in the comments of his latest Instagram post about his actions at full-time and he replied with an apology to the fanbase, insisting he will do better in the future.

“Sorry my friend! Really upset with the result! Thanks very much for the effort and support you all have been done through this whole season. I promise that next time I’ll do the right thing,” Rodrigo replied.

The bare minimum

Applauding the faithful travelling supporters has been the standard procedure at every club in the country for a very long time.

It is especially prominent when the away side have suffered defeat but Rodrigo’s actions weren’t acceptable in the Midlands.

Leeds have always been backed by a massive and passionate away following who often out-sing their home counterparts.

They don’t expect much in return except a side that gives 100% effort and applauds their commitment to the club at full-time.

How this seemed to escape Rodrigo is something only he knows but he will be sure to give extra thanks to the travelling Whites during their next away game at Everton on Saturday.

It’s a big game in the battle for survival and Leeds could put a big gap to the chasing pack with a win on Merseyside

In other Leed United news, we think this star could be bombed out of the Leeds side after what he did last night.
