‘Rock and roll’ – Mark Lawrenson predicts winner in Leeds clash v Sheffield United

Mark Lawrenson has backed Leeds United to make it back-to-back wins in the Premier League as they travel to Sheffield United on Sunday.

The BBC pundit has predicted that the Whites will win 2-1 at Bramall Lane, with musician Declan McKenna claiming it will finish 2-3.

Leeds will be looking for less action in the Yorkshire derby after their opening two games have seen them score and concede seven goals.

Lawrenson claimed that the Premier League clash will be a “rock and roll” game, filled with high intensity passing and tackles flying in everywhere.

“Leeds are up and running points-wise after seeing off Fulham last week and I think this will be another rock-and-roll type game with lots of chances, and lots of tackling too,” he wrote for the BBC.

“Both teams like to get stuck in, and this is going to be a good game to watch.

“Sheffield United have no goals or points so far, but I think they will at least put the first part of that problem right in this game.”

Chris Wilder has adopted an all-attacking system at the Blades since arriving, pushing his defenders forward – something Leeds can certainly exploit on Sunday.

Sheffield United will also be without influential defender John Egan after his red card against Aston Villa on Monday.

Leeds’ Yorkshire rivals have lost both of their opening games without scoring, and the Whites will be wanting that record to continue.

Marcelo Bielsa has been to Bramall Lane once since taking over at the Whites, and that finished with a 1-0 win – something he would be delighted with this weekend.
