Robin Koch delivers Instagram message on Leeds injury, Adam Forshaw responds

Leeds United defender Robin Koch has delivered an Instagram message addressing his injury troubles and recovery.

The German international has undergone surgery on his long-term knee problem and will be out until atleast March 2021.

This is a problem for the Whites, with Liam Cooper also pulling up with an injury problem during the 6-2 defeat against Manchester United on Sunday.

Writing on his personal Instagram account on Monday evening, Koch addressed his injury to the fans to which to likes of Adam Forshaw reacted.

“Hey guys, thanks, thanks, thanks for all your nice messages the last weeks,” he wrote. “I really appreciate this and they motivate me even more.

“I’m doing absolutely fine. I already started to march on with my recovery but the most important thing is that we will be marching on together again very soon. In the next few weeks, I will only focus on this and I will give 110% in order to get back on to the pitch.”

There is no hiding that Koch has been a massive miss.

Leeds have rarely had two of their senior central defenders fit at the same time, and just as Diego Llorente is returning, Cooper could be ruled out for the foreseeable future.

Hopefully, the Scottish international is fit enough to keep his spot and form a potential partnership with Llorente starting against Burnley next week.

Koch has been superb after settling down from his early struggles. Only Cooper has averaged more interceptions than the 24-year-old according to WhoScored, but he has played 63 more minutes.

Marcelo Bielsa will be desperate to have the German back, with his defender clearly determined to get back before March – fingers crossed.
