‘Bags of potential’, ’10 million+’ – Some fans claim Leeds must avoid ‘Stupid decision’ on 21y/o

Leeds United forward Tyler Roberts was a notable absence on Saturday afternoon in the 3-0 defeat against Tottenham.

Marcelo Bielsa admitted after the clash that the Welsh international was simply “unavailable” for selection at this moment.

Those comments led to many Whites fans fearing the worst over Roberts’ future, and that he was potentially set to leave Elland Road this month.

A number of clubs have been linked with a move for Roberts this season, including Championship sides Derby and Bournemouth.

Football Insider have reported that Leeds would consider parting ways with the 21-year-old if they can bring in a replacement first.

That hasn’t happened, and Noel Whelan has even claimed that Roberts isn’t a Premier League player, but rather a Championship level starter.

Roberts has only started twice this season, with six of his eight appearances coming from the bench in the Premier League.

Patrick Bamford has taken the league by storm, and the Welsh youngster’s chances appear to be getting slimmer by the matchday.

What do the fans think?

Many Leeds fans have claimed that they would rather see Roberts leave on loan instead of a permanent deal, as he is still showing great glimpses.

The majority admitted that the Whites would be making a big mistake should they let the striker leave at such a young age without proving himself.
