Robert Sanchez hails Leeds United ace Rodrigo days before face-off

Leeds United will head to the South Coast to take on Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday (27 August) where international teammates will face off.

Spanish compatriots Rodrigo and Robert Sanchez have both enjoyed strong starts to the 2022-23 season with the Whites attacker the league’s top scorer and Brighton’s shot-stopper having two clean sheets to his name.

But even though the two sides are set to take each other on soon, Sanchez has been waxing lyrical about the Leeds United ace on Instagram.

Rodrigo posted on his own Instagram page after the 3-0 win at home to Chelsea, “What an atmosphere! What a performance! What a team!” accompanying a picture of himself celebrating his delightfully headed goal.

The Seagulls’ number one replied to the Premier League’s top scorer moments after the post went live to say “You are so good, bro.”

Mind games?

They might be Spanish compatriots but do they realise that they have to face each other at the Amex next week?

Rodrigo is quickly becoming one of the most feared attackers in the entire league thanks to his sensational goal-scoring start to the season and maybe Sanchez is concerned about his clean sheet record.

Only his own player away at Old Trafford has managed to put the ball beyond the Brighton shot-stopper so far this campaign but if Leeds United play anything like they can then that will quickly be false information.

Maybe Sanchez is trying to be all loving and supportive of his fellow Spaniard to get into his head before they line up on opposite sides of the tunnel next Saturday to give his side any kind of advantage.

Both sides have seven points from three games and occupy the European places in the league and neither will want to relinquish that place at the weekend.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are still in the race to sign this exciting winger after his proposed move to another Premier League club collapsed.
