Robbie Savage predicts Leeds United to be relegated from the Premier League
Robbie Savage believes Leeds United will get relegated from the Premier League this season after their 5-1 defeat to Crystal Palace.
The Whites suffered a horrible loss at Elland Road last time out as they blew a 1-0 lead and conceded four second-half goals to find themselves outside of the relegation zone on goal difference alone.
And when asked by Emma Jones for William Hill (14 April) which three teams he was predicting to be relegated at the end of the season, Savage cited that result as the reason why he selected Leeds.
“Southampton, then I’m going to go Leicester City,” he said. “I think they would have had a better opportunity by keeping Brendan Rodgers.
“I might be proven wrong, but I just think Leicester will join Southampton and then that last place is so tough to call.
“But Leeds United, 1-0 up at home to Crystal Palace concede just before half-time and then concede four in the second half.
“Losing 5-1 at home, when you’re fighting to stay up… I’m going to go Leeds United Jonesy.
“Southampton, Leicester and Leeds United.”
Improvement
That result against Crystal Palace was an absolute freak result, but at the same time it had been coming because defensively we haven’t been good enough.

So far this season we have failed to score anywhere near enough goals considering the quality we have in our squad, but defensively we have been far too open too.
Javi Gracia had done well up until that game to make us harder to beat, but it all went up in smoke that afternoon and with a clash against Liverpool to come next things aren’t looking too bright.
We are running out of time to put points on the board and save ourselves, and without a big improvement in performance against Liverpool then things are going to get worse before they get better.
It has to improve and the players have to give more to prove Savage wrong and get the points they need to maintain our Premier League status for next season.
In other Leeds news, the club put a relegation clause into a first-team players contract recently.
