Robbie Savage enrages Emma Jones with Leeds United relegation prediction in Premier League

Robbie Savage has lit the blue touch paper for Leeds United fan Emma Jones after he was asked to make his mid-season predictions.

Presenter Jones was left livid with the former Blackburn Rovers and Derby County midfielder (among others) as he backed the Whites to go down along with Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Leeds currently sit in 15th in the Premier League and have a very tough return to action when they take on Manchester City on 28 December.

“Bottom three, I’m going to go Southampton, Wolves and Leeds United in the bottom three,” Savage said to William Hill, shared via his personal Twitter account. “I’m going to stick with it, Marching on Together.”

Jones responded: “I was going to wish you a Merry Christmas but after you said Leeds are getting relegated, it ain’t happening. Have a not-so-Merry Christmas and I don’t look forward to seeing you next year.”

Long way to go

Unfortunately, Savage’s prediction is not that far-fetched and it would not come as a huge shock if it came to be when the chequered flag falls in May.

To avoid the dreaded drop back down to the Championship, where Leeds spent so many years trying to escape, Jesse Marsch has to try and find the right balance between defence and attack which is something he is yet to master at Elland Road.

Some Andrea Radrizzani investment in January wouldn’t go amiss after the club managed to effectively break even in the summer thanks to the sales of Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha.

Victor Orta will have his hitlist ready to go for the next month and all he needs is the cash from the top to go wild and make some big moves and steer the Whites away from the danger zone.

Leeds came within a game of relegation last season and know that things could have very easily been different so they have to make a change while they still can.

In other Leeds United news, despite an agreement being very nearly reached, this player is still not convinced that his future lies away from Elland Road.
