Robbie Savage backs Leeds United to survive in relegation battle
Robbie Savage says he thinks Leeds United will stay in the Premier League this season, but admitted he usually gets his predictions ‘completely wrong’.
The Whites currently sit in the relegation zone due to their worse goal difference than Burnley, but just two points behind Everton too although they’ve played a game more than both sides.
But Savage, speaking to bookmakers William Hill, believes that Jesse Marsch’s side will be able to secure at least one win from their final two games and that should be enough to see them over the line because of Burnley’s tough fixtures against Tottenham, Aston Villa and then Newcastle.
“I usually get this completely wrong, whatever I say the opposite happens, so Leeds will stay up,” he said.
“I just think, listen, one win from the last two games for Leeds. Brentford and Brighton, Brighton at the weekend, I think they’ll get one win. I know they got [Dan] James out suspended, Luke Ayling out, worst defence, but I just think that Elland Road crowd will get them through it.
“Everton will be fine, Burnley face Newcastle on the last day so I think Leeds will stay up.”

Oh no
If what Savage says is true and he almost always gets it wrong, then Leeds might be in for a rough final week and a bit of the season.
When Brighton come to Elland Road at the weekend, the team will need to be at their best and sharpest but they will also need the fans to help carry them through.
The fans will know what is needed from the game because Burnley play first, and they will be absolutely flying to get all three points and give themselves the best chance of safety.
At the end of the day it doesn’t matter what Savage predicts or what any players are predicting, they simply need to perform on the pitch and give everyone a reason to believe.
It will be incredibly difficult and if they manage to survive it will be one of the great escapes, but there is still so far to go to secure that.
