Robbie Fowler shares Leeds United relegation prediction, they would have David Moyes to thank
Leeds United will be extra thankful to David Moyes and West Ham’s exuberant celebrations after reaching the Europa Conference League final if they can escape relegation.
That is the view of former White striker Robbie Fowler, writing in the Sunday Mirror (21 May, page 69).
The Hammers won 1-0 at AZ Alkmaar on Thursday to book their spot in the showpiece fixture against Fiorentina on 7 June.

Leeds travel to the London Stadium on Sunday (21 May) knowing three points will see them leapfrog Everton into 17th in the Premier League ahead of next weekend’s season finale against Tottenham.
“Moyes has been through a lot, but again, he’s shown immense character and grit to come through it, and that is reflected in his team. Fair play to him. Although I wouldn’t mind being Big Sam getting to play them today,” Fowler wrote.
“I’m pretty sure those celebrations went on into the night on Thursday, and that leaves just a few days to recover.
“If they can win, Leeds may yet sneak out of that relegation scrap. And in a way, they’ll have David Moyes to thank!”

Leeds have to take advantage
Leeds’ position in the table has been precarious for most of the season but it has been looking ever desperate in recent weeks, hence the appointment of Sam Allardyce.
A creditable 2-2 draw against Newcastle United last weekend will have boosted spirits but the trip to West Ham presents a golden opportunity and Leeds will be chomping at the bit.
West Ham’s top-flight status was already pretty secure even prior to Saturday’s results and their focus now is going to be firmly on securing a European trophy.
Indeed, there might even still be a few sore heads in the Hammers’ camp, with the celebrations – deservedly – pretty extensive following the win in Alkmaar.
Leeds finish their campaign against an out-of-sorts Tottenham side, so if they can head into that one with the momentum of a morale-boosting win at West Ham then their chances of survival will be significantly boosted. It is an opportunity they simply cannot pass up.
