Rob Green makes outrageous prediction that will shock absolutely every Leeds United fan

Leeds United are aiming to be the first promoted club in three seasons to avoid immediate relegation from the Premier League.

With the gulf in quality between the Championship and Premier League, this is no easy task, and Leeds have understandably been predicted to go down by some.

Former players such as Rio Ferdinand have tipped Daniel Farke to be the first manager sacked, with the German having two catastrophic spells in the top flight with Norwich.

Whilst this may have upset some of the Elland Road faithful, on the other hand, they will equally love to hear what their former goalkeeper, Rob Green, has predicted for the upcoming campaign.

Green makes bold prediction regarding Farke

With Leeds looking to complete the signing of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, it looks as though the 49ers have started to panic late on in the window after failing to reinforce Farke’s forward line-up to this point.

Despite this, Green, who played every minute in Leeds’ 2016/17 campaign, has predicted his former side to stay up.

The former England international also tipped Farke to win the Manager of the Season award, for being the manager to buck the trend of the promoted teams being relegated when asked for his predictions for the new Premier League season on the league’s official website.

“I think he will win it for bucking the trend of all three promoted sides getting relegated,” Green said.

Attacking reinforcements needed if Leeds want to make Green’s prediction a reality

Whilst many onlookers make out that the bridge between the Championship and Premier League is too far, this is not the case, especially for a club of Leeds’ stature.

However, with United’s lack of quality recruitment in the final third, they are not even giving themselves a fighting chance as it stands.

Whilst there are doubts around whether Farke is the right man for the job in the top flight, and rightly so, the German cannot be expected to keep Leeds up with his options up front.

Farke’s striker options for next season:

If Manor Solomon is to return to West Yorkshire, Leeds still have to splash the cash on another player to lead the line, and even then, there are still concerns within Farke’s squad, like the lack of depth at full-back.
