Rob Green details what Klich told him about Bielsa Xmas training regime at Leeds
Former Leeds United goalkeeper Rob Green has provided an insight into Marcelo Bielsa’s approach to training over the busy Christmas period.
Green, who was speaking on The Kelly And Wrighty Show, as transcribed by The Boot Room, revealed som valuable insight into Bielsa’s training methods, or lack of, through Whites midfielder Mateusz Klich.
Discussing his conversations with the Pole, Green said: “I spoke to Mateusz Klich who is one of the centre-midfielders for Leeds last week. I said you’ve got a busy schedule coming up, and he said ‘Yeah, I like it because we don’t have to train’. The training is harder than the games.”
Pundits up and down the country have continuously claimed that the players are looking tired, but the Whites continue to bat away those claims with impressive performances.
When will the pundits learn?
From the moment that Leeds United secured promotion, there was a fascination about the methods of Bielsa and the high intensity that the Whites play at.
Tim Sherwood was among the many pundits to claim that the Whites are already ‘tired’ this season.
Oh, Tim…
After hearing the comments from Sherwood, Leeds themselves could not help but poke fun back towards the former Tottenham boss on social media.
Trevor Sinclair also joined Sherwood in on the act, which did not go unnoticed on social media by Jermaine Beckford.
To make the argument even weaker, there was a brilliant moment picked up by Amazon Prime during their coverage of the 5-2 victory.
Keep an eye out a very tired looking at Ciaran Clark, who does not have the energy to completely bring himself to his feet after trying to chase Jack Harrison back before his thunderbolt of a goal to make it five.
But, it is Leeds who are tired, right?
Leeds are clearly confident about their ability to go the distance in the Premier League and after two seasons of working under Bielsa in the Championship, the top-flight calendar should work in their favour.
While Bielsa might just have to limit his murderball sessions over the Christmas period, the Whites are certainly not struggling for stamina in the Premier League.
