Rob Edwards to Leeds United verdict shared by Sky Sports pundit amid ownership uncertainty at Elland Road
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson believes Leeds United should look at a manager like Vincent Kompany or Rob Edwards if the board want to install a long-term project at Elland Road.
Edwards won promotion with Luton Town on Saturday after the Hatters beat Coventry City 6-5 on penalties to secure their place in the Premier League.
Robinson feels that if Leeds want to “create” and “build” something at Elland Road, then a younger manager could be the route to go down.

“If you want to create and build something, then you look at a manager like Kompany. Rob Edwards at Luton, you look at what he’s done.
“The recruitment at Brighton as well. They are all perfect examples of how vital managerial recruitment is.
“It all depends on the owner’s preference. A lot of fans will want the next Kompany. They will look at what Edwards has done at Luton. They’re effective and get results.”

Robinson has previously alluded to how he wouldn’t be against Sam Allardyce being given the job for a season in the second tier.
A decision is yet to be made on the former West Brom man’s future, with there being plenty of uncertainty in terms of the ownership at Elland Road.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites want to sign one 13-goal forward this summer after an impressive European season.
