Rio Ferdinand posts about Leeds signing Rodrigo – and these Man United fans are fuming: 'Christ'

Leeds United announced the signing of Spain international Rodrigo on a four-year deal on Saturday – and, in a huge bonus, it’s managed to wind Man United fans up too.

Leeds didn’t officially announce the fee but did confirm that it was a club-record deal – and that didn’t escape the attention of former Whites and Man United star Rio Ferdinand.

The previous club record for Leeds was Ferdinand, who they bought for £18m way back in 2000.

On hearing the Rodrigo news, Ferdinand tweeted, “Just seen after 2 decades @LUFC have broken their club record transfer fee since….” and added a pair of eyes emoji.

Few fans would have thought it would have taken Leeds 20 years to break that record but it shows just how long the exile has been from the Premier League.

And plenty of Leeds and Man United fans reacted to Ferdinand’s tweet on Saturday.

Leeds fans were thrilled and ready to rub it in the faces of the United fans.

And the United fans were really not happy to see the news after their club has been so quiet in the summer window.

Here are the reactions from the fuming Man United fans, which will be the cherry on top for the Leeds supporters…
