Richard Keys sends message to Leeds United as Premier League relegation verdict shared
Richard Keys has sent a message to Leeds United and Leicester City after the two clubs were relegated from the Premier League on Sunday (28 May).
There were no heroics for Sam Allardyce’s side on the final day of the season as they crumbled to a 4-1 defeat against Spurs at Elland Road, ending the season 19th in the Premier League.
Taking to Twitter in reaction to Leeds’ 21st and last defeat of the season, the beINSPORTS pundit said he was sorry that a club of Leeds’ size had been relegated to the Championship.

“I’m sorry we’ve lost Leicester and Leeds – two proper clubs but well done Everton,” he wrote.
“We can look forward to the M69 derby in Coventry though.”

No shock
Although the Whites and Leicester City are historically huge clubs, both clubs could see relegation coming from a long way off.
You can’t concede 78 goals in a Premier League season, fire through three managers and even consider staving off relegation – it simply isn’t good enough.
The decline over the last two years has been stark and rapid. Just a couple of years ago, the club had Marcelo Bielsa at the helm and a team that fans could be proud of.
However, ever since the Argentine was sacked at Elland Road, it feels as though Andrea Radrizzani has lost control of the club.
A string of dreadful transfer signings, as well as ultimately flawed managerial calls, have all led to Leeds falling back into the Championship.
The relegation looks like it could take the Whites right back to square one, with several first-team players likely to be sold to raise funds this summer and Radrizzani looking ever-more-likely to sell his shares in the club.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites want to sign one 13-goal forward this summer after an impressive European season.
