Respected Sky Sports trio make major Leeds United relegation prediction
Jamie Redknapp, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards have lifted the lid on the Premier League relegation battle after Leeds United lost to Arsenal.
An Illan Meslier howler and Luke Ayling red card combined with an Eddie Nketiah brace saw the Whites suffer a 2-1 defeat on Sunday [May 8] afternoon at the Emirates.
Despite the odds now seemingly stacked against Jesse Marsch’s side, the trio were optimistic for the Elland Road outfit when speaking after the game on Sky Sports Main Event.

“I still think Burnley go down,” said Redknapp via Leeds Live. “That result yesterday [3-1 loss to Aston Villa] was a shock to their system. Leeds can get something out of them two games, certainly Brighton. Everton [beating Leicester 2-1], that result away from home.
Richards added: “I felt today Leeds showed something today, especially in that second half, but they’ve got big players missing. It’ll be hard for me to pick one.”
Carragher said: “I’ll be very surprised if they [Burnley] get more than a point [from their next two]. This turnaround Everton have had. If Everton win at Watford in midweek, they won’t be worrying. Burnley will go down.”
Dogfight.
It is crunch time for Leeds now – they have to be faultless in their remaining three games if they have any hope of staying in the Premier League.

Despite it being unlikely, they have to assume that Everton and Burnely will go on to win the rest of their games which makes it imperative for Marsch’s side to win theirs with anything less simply unacceptable.
Of course, if all teams do win their games – the Whites will be relegated on goal difference but following Burnley’s convincing loss against Aston Villa on the weekend, you sense they have more blunders to come.
Chelsea will be the toughest test out of the three but if Everton can beat them at home, so can Leeds.
Brighton and Brentford’s seasons are all but finished and hopefully, their players will already be picturing themselves on the beach. Even if they do put up a fight, the Whites will surely have enough to beat them both and if they don’t – the Elland Road outfit doesn’t deserve to stay up.
In other Leeds United news, Jesse Marsch says Leeds are “screwed” if they do one major thing their after 2-1 loss v Arsenal.
