Report shares likely Leeds squad for FA Cup clash v Crawley, demanded U23s duo miss out

Leeds United travel to Crawley Town on Sunday afternoon as they start their FA Cup run for yet another season.

Marcelo Bielsa has yet to get this stage of the competition and has admitted that he is set to use an experienced side at the People’s Pension Stadium.

El Loco claimed that his side will include no players that haven’t played before, meaning some under-23s players will have to settle for their clash against Burnley on Monday.

Leeds Live have shared the squad that has been made available this afternoon, and it doesn’t make for good reading for Crawley.

Liam Cooper and Diego Llorente have returned to the fold after their recent injuries, with the skipper more likely to feature than the Spaniard.

The only under-23s options in there are Elia Caprile, Charlie Cresswell, Niall Huggins and Jack Jenkins.

Leif Davis and Olly Casey are also named but have both featured more than once for the first team under Bielsa since he arrived.

All eyes are set on what should be a strong line up at Crawley, but surely more youngsters could have been used.

Joe Gelhardt and Sam Greenwood have set the world alight at Thorp Arch since moving in the summer and will have been desperate to feature today, even from the bench.

That being said, it also means we can start to get excited at the prospect of some of our big-name players going up against the League Two minnows which could be the start of an exciting cup run for the Whites.

Let’s just hope that this doesn’t backfire – we’ve been there before.
