Illan Meslier now valued at £34.2m as Leeds United goalkeeper continues to shine
Leeds United man Illan Meslier is now valued at 40million Euros [£34.2million], according to a new report.
ESPN report that the CIES Football Observatory now value the 21-year-old at a huge sum considering the Whites paid just £5million for him.
Meslier has established himself in the Premier League as Leeds’ number one goalkeeper, and he has made 50 appearances now in the top flight.
In truth, it looks as if he could make 500 appearances in the Premier League because he is still so young and looks like he has all the potential in the world.
Leeds could make a huge profit.
Now, given that he is now valued at seven times the amount that the Whites paid for him, you would think that they could make a huge profit.
However, we can’t see that happening unless Leeds get relegated or something like that.
If not, we see no reason why Meslier can’t stay in the Premier League with Leeds and keep increasing his value.
So far this season, he has made 46 saves, and there is no moving him as Leeds’ number one and rightly so.
He has also been described as “excellent” by Jim Beglin recently [Premier League world feed].
You would think that the Whites are in a great position to hold onto Meslier, but if they were to sell him any time soon, they could demand a huge fee.
If you look at other young goalkeepers in the world, you would have to say that Meslier is one of the best, and his new market value reflects that.
