We desperately hope that Leeds United will be in the Premier League next season.
However, that’s not looking as nailed on as it was before Christmas. Then we had an 11-point buffer back to third.
Now, Leeds are clinging onto second by their fingernails and Fulham could go above them with a win tonight.
However, irrespective of which division Leeds are in life will go on and planning is already underway for new summer signings.
Leeds were reportedly pushing the hardest for a deal for Peterborough United striker Ricky-Jade Jones in January.
That’s according to Leeds Live who have also claimed that 17-year-old Jones, who “has been turning heads in League One this season”, will be “near the top of the club’s shopping list” if they fail to win promotion.
This comes after Peterborough owner Darragh MacAnthony confirmed that Victor Orta had been in touch over signing a player in the January window.
Yep think Victor and Baz spoke this window :). Great respect between both our clubs. https://t.co/kLb6I9Hws6

Jones played a couple of times in the EFL Trophy last year before making his senior debut in League One at the tail-end of November.
Since then he’s made 10 league appearances but he was marked for the top long before.
It was reported that previous Peterborough manager Steve Evans wanted to give him his debut as a 15-year-old but couldn’t because he was too young.
He would likely be another one for the talented Under-23s side in the first instance but if Leeds miss out on promotion and plans drastically change, it looks like Victor Orta has a plan for him.
