Report: Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford left out of squad v Fulham
Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford will be available for Saturday’s clash with West Ham after being left out of the squad for Tuesday’s trip to Fulham.
That’s according to LUFC Fanzone on Twitter, a well-informed Whites social media platform that broke a number of stories in the summer, including Kiko Casilla’s loan exit to Elche.
They wrote: “Patrick Bamford being left of out tomorrow’s squad at Fulham is not injury-related, and [he] will be available for Saturday’s game against West Ham. Instead of travelling to London, he was in Leeds today opening a new cycle lane!”
Dewsbury Road Hub shared further photos of the 28-year-old on their Twitter, with the striker chatting to local school kids in the area.
Saturday relief
Leeds have been decimated by injuries recently, and after a shaky start to the season, an injury to their star striker is the last thing they need.
Bamford has only struck once in five Premier League games for the winless Whites so far this season, but there is a real dearth of options to replace him in attack with Marcelo Bielsa keen to deploy Rodrigo in midfield.
Joe Gelhardt and Sam Greenwood have shone in attack for the Under-23s but their chances under Bielsa have been limited.

However, they should get a chance to stake their claim for more involvement on Tuesday as the League Cup resumes.
If the report is to be believed, Bamford has been left out of the squad, and that might suggest El Loco is focusing on the league, or that the England international has a minor knock or niggle that may need to be rested for a few days.
Assuringly, though, he looks likely to play on Saturday as Leeds welcome West Ham to Elland Road, looking to kickstart their Premier League campaign after some early disappointments.
