Report: Leeds could let two senior first-team players exit before summer window closes

The Telegraph has claimed that Leeds United could let two first-team players go before the summer window shuts.

The report claims that Kiko Casilla and Barry Douglas are the two players that are seen as surplus to requirements.

In what will be no surprise to any Leeds fan, the report also claims that Ouasim Buoy, Jay-Roy Grot could be off-loaded, while and Conor Shaughnessy might leave on loan.

One Leeds United player has already left, after Bryce Hosannah joined Bradford City on Tuesday.

First-team exits?

There have been rumours that Casilla has agreed terms with a club in Spain but nothing from a reputable source.

And, unless Leeds bring another keeper in, we don’t think Casilla will be going anywhere.

He’s currently injured and it meant that young keeper Elia Caprile was on the bench against Sheffield United.

He looked good for the Under-23s in their win against Sunderland on Monday but he’s not ready to play in the Premier League and Leeds need cover.

As for Doulgas, he’s not making the matchday squad at the moment, despite some strong displays towards the end of last season.

We’re surprised that he’s not even making the bench, especially with Leeds’ shortage on the left.

The fact he’s behind an out-of-position Stuart Dallas and then Gjanni Alioski suggests he’s going to struggle to get any game-time this season and we wouldn’t be surprised to see him go.

However, we don’t think there’s any imperative and Bielsa seems happy for him to stay and fight for his place.
