Report - Leeds player set for loan exit, deal to be wrapped up today

Leeds United defender Bryce Hosannah is set to join Bradford City on loan, according to Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth.

The 21-year-old has yet to make a senior appearance for the Whites since signing from Crystal Palace in 2017.

He has, however, made two appearances for the club’s U23s already this season.

And Smyth has suggested that his exit from Elland Road is imminent.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, the reliable reporter said: Leeds United’s Bryce Hosannah will be heading out on loan to Bradford City.

“Move should go through today.”

This is probably the right move for Hosannah, truth be told.

The versatile defender is well down the pecking order in Yorkshire, but there’s no doubting his potential, so much so that the Whites turned down a loan offer for him from a Scottish club so that he could continue his development at Thorp Arch with the U23s.

But now, at the age of 21, he needs to be taking that next step and looking for regular senior action.

Injuries have been cruel to Hosannah, and you could certainly argue that they have held him back compared to some of his peers.

But the opportunity to go out and play first team football week in, week out could be the boost he needs to get himself back on track.

Displacing the likes of Luke Ayling and Stuart Dallas in the first team picture at Elland Road was always going to be a huge ask, but this could be the sort of detour in his career he needs to put him reignite his spark.
