Report - Leeds in three-way PL battle to sign ex-Elland Road ace this summer

Danny Rose is set to make a decision on where he will be playing his football next season, with Leeds United one of three clubs in the running to secure his signature, according to beIN Sports reporter Eric Krakauer.

The former Elland Road full-back spent the second half of last season out on loan at Newcastle United, and appears to be surplus to requirements at current side Tottenham Hotspur.

According to Football Insider, Spurs are willing to sell the 30-year-old this summer  after he fell down the pecking order in north London.

Krakauer took to Twitter on Thursday to suggest that Rose is facing a decision between making a return to Leeds, a second spell at Newcastle, or a move to former Premier League champions Leicester City.

Rose originally left the Whites back in 2007 to join Spurs in a deal worth just under £1 million.

This would surely be a good move for Leeds, provided they can beat off the competition.

Rose may have fallen down the pecking order in north London, but he is still a quality talent – so much so that former Elland Road full-back Danny Mills expects him to be inundated with offers this summer.

With that in mind, landing him would surely be a serious coup for Marcelo Bielsa’s men.

One side who may not be in the running for his signature, however, is Newcastle.

Contrary to Krakauer’s report, Football Insider suggest that the Magpies have cooled their interest in the player.

That can only be a good thing for Leeds, who could be in line to bring a top talent back to his boyhood club.

In other Leeds United news, Sky Sports Fantasy Football have confirmed the price of a player who is yet to officially join Leeds.
