Reliable journalist shares if Pablo Hernandez will feature for Leeds v Fulham

The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth expects Leeds United midfielder Pablo Hernandez to be in the squad for the clash against Fulham.

Hernandez missed the 2-0 defeat against Cardiff City on Sunday afternoon, and was replaced by Tyler Roberts in the Welsh capital.

Early suggestions were that the Spaniard will be back against Fulham, although there are concerns that his return to training on Wednesday could be too late.

Smyth shed light on the situation and confirmed that he expects to see the experienced playmaker at Elland Road.

“If Pablo Hernandez’ injury was as slight as Leeds were suggesting and he returns to training on Wednesday as Marcelo Bielsa expected, then we might well see him involved on Saturday,” he wrote in a Q&A.

“I think he will be in the squad. Every finger in the city will be crossed for that.”

Smyth is definitely spot on, every last person involved with Leeds will have their fingers crossed that the Spaniard is ready for the Fulham clash.

It wasn’t as if Roberts played badly in that spot, but the Welsh international didn’t give the Whites what Hernandez does in that playmaker spot.

The 21-year-old took three poor touches and was dispossessed three times in the defeat [WhoScored], something which Hernandez doesn’t struggle with, and he will definitely be needed against Fulham.
