Reliable journalist: Leeds in hunt for attacker compared to David Silva with £20m release clause

Leeds United are in the hunt for 19-year-old Velez star Thiago Almada according to Diario SPORT journalist Juan Arango.

Almada broke into the Velez first team last season and scored three goals in the 18/19 campaign.

The attacking midfielder scored four goals and added one assist in the 19/20 Superliga campaign.

Arango made the claim on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday night.

Leeds are being linked with a lot of players at the moment but Almada is one of the most exciting.

Reports have linked the attacker with a move to Man United, Man City and Arsenal this summer, too, and Almada has a release clause of £20m.

The Daily Mail claimed that Almada has “excited fans with his speed, ability on the ball and vision to pick a pass” and he can play either in midfield or on either wing, which would make him a brilliant addition to the Leeds squad.

The same report compared him to Man City star David Silva and said he was the “standout” player for the Argentine Under-20 side in the 2019 World Cup.

Fichajes claim that Man United have already started negotiations with the player and it would be all the sweeter if Leeds could steal him from their bitter rivals.

Marcelo Bielsa could be the key here with the manager sure to be a draw for the young Argentinian player.
